Can San Jose’s mobile home park residents rest easy now?

 "On Tuesday, the council will vote on placing 13 mobile home parks into a new land-use category. While such a move wouldn’t outright ban developers from converting the site to high-density housing, a general plan amendment must now be submitted."

Know-your-rights forum planned for County mobile-home owners Nov 30

"Mobile-home owners will get a chance to find out how they are affected by the county’s revised mobile-home rent-control ordinance at a know-your-rights forum on Thursday, November 30 at Centro del Popular, 18346 Sonoma Highway in Boyes Hot Springs.

Conducted in English and Spanish, the rights training will be presented from 6-8pm by California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA) and the Golden State Mobile-Home Owners League (GSMOL)"

Local Rent-Controlled Units to See 1.7% Increase from March 2024 to February 2025

 "The rent increase for rent-controlled units from March 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025, is set at 1.7%. This is based on 60% of the Consumer Price Index increase for all urban consumers in the Bay Area. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported this increase to be 2.8% in November 2022."

California AB1035 Mobilehome parks: rent caps

 

 

California Assembly Bill 1035 proposes to create a statewide rent control policy for mobile home parks. The bill would cap annual rent increases and establish a just-cause eviction standard, among other provisions. The goal of the bill is to protect mobile home park residents from unreasonable rent hikes and ensure stability in their housing.
